Experimental tool
This is a new tool and is not finished.
Copy the information that has to be right: callsigns, reports, serial numbers, names, park and summit references, Field Day exchanges. One message at a time, typed (or written) as you hear it. Every message is marked character by character, and the history keeps what was sent beside what you copied.
Choose what to copy and the skill to practise, set your own speed, and press Play. The steps below show what the exercise does, and how to change it.
What to copy
Each message to copy is one of the switched on content types, chosen at random. The stations are generated the same way as in Ultimate QSO: callsigns follow real on-air activity, and a station’s name, town, section and summit belong to its country.

Names and places
Numbers
High seas weather
Operating events
Band conditions
Make the Morse sound like it came off the air rather than out of a signal generator: atmospheric noise, fading, a receiver filter, and other operators on the band. The noise floor is calculated from the location, season and the time of day.

Review
Every message, with what was sent beside what you copied. A wrong character is marked, an extra one is struck through, and _ stands where one was missed.

Help
Load some settings from a file (overwriting your current choices), or Save all the settings for this page in a file. Share Settings generates a link to bookmark your settings, insert into a document, or share with someone else. The Reset Settings button changes everything in this page to its default value.
Notes
Each exercise has a link of its own, such as /labs/exact-copy/?preset=fieldDay. The exercises never set your speed, so the same link works for everyone at their own speed; add
&wpm=18 to a link to set one.
An exact copy is every character right. A report or serial written as the number it stands for (599 for 5NN, 47 for 047) is right, and so is a park or summit reference without its hyphen.
Whole contacts are practised in Ultimate QSO. The callsign exercise with Adapt on is modelled on RufzXP.

Speech is not available in this browser
This browser has no speech synthesis, which is usual for a browser built into an app such as Facebook. The Morse still plays. To hear speech as well, open this page in your usual browser.
